Special Olympics Texas Area 11 Basketball Classsification

Don't miss this year's Special Olympics Texas Area 11 Basketball Classifications to be held on Wednesday, February 22nd at Arlington Martin High School School in Arlington (4501 W. Pleasant Ridge Rd., Arlington, TX 76016). All team members need to plan on being there from 5:30 - 9:00 pm. This is where each team plays a few basketball games against other Area 11 Basketball teams to put teams into divisions for Area 11 Basketball Competition to be held on Saturday, March 3rd.

1. Athletes will be required to have a current medical on file prior to classification to be able to participate in classification.
2. All teams, including unified teams, must be present at classification or they will not be entered into the tournament.   An athlete who does not participate in the classification round will not be permitted to play the first game of the tournament.
3. All athletes need to be at the gym no later than 5:30 pm. We may or may not have a game at that time, but we need to be there in case we do.
4. Coaches must start the players in each classification game who will start the game during tournament play.  Coaches will be responsible for alternating and playing all team members during the classification round.  Classification personnel will remind the coaches to put in their alternates.  All players must play at their full competitive ability at classifications.
