Cathie is originally from Australia, but has been living in Texas for most of her married life. She really enjoys watching the athletes that she has worked with over the years. It is a great thrill to see that athlete that once was barely walking thru the water now swimming 200 meters or more in very competitive competition. She enjoys watching her athletes as they do their best and to see how excited they get when they do well in their races. Because of her athletes, Special Olympics has become a big part of her life.

If you happen to be at a swim meet you will most likely find Cathie in the pool with the individual skills athletes or on the sidelines cheering her athletes on in a tough swim race. If you happen to see Cathie, be sure to say hi and introduce yourself and then you can hear her talk with what is left of her Australian accent!
