Vicky Popplewell

Meet Our Coaches

Vicky was orginally from Kansas, where she was born and raised. She wasn't involved in sports in high school but was a team captian for the pom pom squad. After high school she worked at Fort Leavenworth and was transferred with the government to Fort Wort, Texas in 1976. She has spent most of that time since in Texas (except for 9 years that she spent in New Mexico).

Vicky is currently the assistant to the President of Texas Health Memorial Hospital. Her hobbies consist of reading any James Patterson or Nicholas Sparks book, cooking and dancing. She very actively participates in exercise and continues that to her young at heart attitude. She enjoys working with the team in her spare time.

So, the next time you are at a Special Olympics Texas event, be sure to look for Vicky. She is probably wearing red or black (team's colors) and she's probably cheering for the athletes as they compete.
